Nowata Chamber of Commerce
Hello, everyone

The Second Saturday Volunteer Day will kick off this year on Saturday, March
13, 8:30-12:00 at Double Creek Cove with a fun morning of clean up and
painting, followed by a wiener roast and s’mores at noon!   This year’s 2nd
Saturday events are being co sponsored by a Keep Oklahoma Beautiful grant in
keeping with the Great American Clean Up going on all across the nation by
volunteer groups coordinating efforts to spruce up their communities.

Last year, volunteers in Nowata were invited to work each second Saturday of
the month from March through October, cleaning and painting around town from
8:30-12:00noon, with a picnic or pizza lunch provided.  Projects included clean
up and painting at Double Creek Cove, Nowata County Fairgrounds, downtown
area, Hwy 169 and at city parks.

Anyone and everyone are welcome to come and work for a few hours and be
treated to a lunch.  Bring your gloves, rakes and paint brushes if you’ve got
them!  The day will begin at 8:30am at the first campground spot with lunch
served at 12:00noon.   For more information, contact Tom or Billie Roane at 918
559 2634.

Thanks
